Growth mindset Quote of the Week:

The Beautiful thing about learning is that no one can take that away from you.  B.B. King

Dear SJV families, Welcome back to all our returning families and a big welcome to our new families. This school year, I will continue to share with you a weekly calendar for the upcoming week. If you are aware of a family who is not signed on to these "e-blasts," just let them know to contact the school and we will help them out. Event wise this is a quiet week, but I just wanted to make note of some upcoming future dates:

Parent Council Meeting Election of Officers: Tue. Sept 24th. ( Please fill out a Candidate nomination form, CSCC Candidate Form and bring it to the meeting if you wish to be on the Parent Council)
Picture Day, Monday Sept. 23 - individual and class pictures.
PA day, Friday Sept. 27, (no school for students)

I also wanted to let parents know that because of a drop in student enrolment, there is a potential staffing adjustment for SJV.  If that occurs, it may lead to the restructuring of some classes that could lead to the change of teachers or classrooms for the students.  This is not a certainty, but it is a possibility.  If it does occur, it will happen this coming Friday.  I am presently awaiting direction from the Board as to our staffing allotment. This is a common situation that happens in almost every elementary school in Ontario so I just wanted to make you aware of the potential changes.  If there will be no restructure, I will let you know as soon as that is confirmed.  Regardless, the staff here will work to make your child's education their priority. Mrs Leavitt, school office administrator has asked me to let families know that food and pizza orders will not begin until October. Also for new families who have not registered an account on SchoolDay, we are waiting for your individual codes to be sent to the school and then we will pass them onto you.
Have a blessed week!
Yours in faith,
J. Murphy
